God doesn’t give reports cards. He doesn’t grade, or mark progress, or see how far behind we are.

God doesn’t grade on a curve, or straight grade, or even grade at all. If God truly graded us all, then we’d all have the same grade.

God doesn’t get mad at us for turning in our homework late, and He doesn’t mark the wrong answers with a big red pen.

God doesn’t do trick questions, or ask us something on a test which we haven’t learned yet.

God doesn’t put some kids in the accelerated class and others in the remedial class. He doesn’t track our progress.

God doesn’t yell at us for forgetting something we learned last year. He doesn’t expect us to remember everything, and He knows we’ll need a little refresher at the start of the year.

God doesn’t use, or give favor to, only the “smart kids”.

If I were in God’s class, I wouldn’t be a “smart kid.” I would be a troublemaker, I wouldn’t listen, I would get most of the questions wrong, and I definitely wouldn’t be still.

But if God gave me a report card, it would say “A+”, because someone else took the class for me.
