“Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders.”
If you read my last blog (Click to read!), then you saw the last picture was me with a random group of people whom you’ve never seen before. Truth is, I’d never seen them before a week ago either, but now I think they’re the bestest ever. So, this post will introduce them to you! I get the amazing privilege of being the Team Leader for this group. They have already gone out of their way to encourage me and give me their support. I’m looking forward to serving, loving and empowering this group to do greater and greater things.
TEAM TRUST WITHOUT BORDERS
(Andy White, me, Kelsey Kirkpatrick, Allison Edwards, Beth Montgomery, Kaci Eccles)
Andy is from Magnolia, Texas (Houston area), and is guaranteed to make you laugh. When he walks in the room, the party starts and it won’t stop while he’s there. If you want some powerful prayer, go find Andy. He will pray loud, pray strong and you’d better get comfortable because he can pray for a while. He has a fire and a passion that will be so needed during the hard days and hard months of our ministries. He also cooks. Yum!
Kelsey is from San Antonio, Texas, and will never, ever back down from a challenge. She will lead hours of worship, singing beautifully and playing the guitar, and then go run you into the ground on an eight mile jog. Her enthusiasm, energy, and spark will drive us to be more and to be better. She is also the Logistics Coordinator for our squad, meaning she is responsible for getting our whole squad from country to country. BIG role. So proud.
Allison is from Nashville, Tennessee, and she will soothe you to sleep with her smooth southern accent. She will also soothe you to sleep because she is the most caring, compassionate, warm-hearted person I’ve ever met. She brought a HUGE bag of Crystal Light to Training Camp, and gave them out to everyone. Her joy, love and service to the Lord are going to be the heartbeat of our team. Her love to serve people is infectious.
Beth is from San Diego, California, and would tag team Kelsey in running you into the ground (she’s seriously into kickboxing). She’s our resident coffee nut/Starbucks employee, so she will probably convert me to liking coffee. She’s a born leader (my team has a ton of leaders, can you tell?) and is one of the happiest, most-easy going people you can be around. I’m also using her as a reason to visit California when we get back, so that’s cool.
Kaci is from Chanute, Kansas, and is a ku jayhawk fan, so she and I had a rocky start. Clearly the Lord has a sense of humor, putting us on the same team. But in all seriousness, Kaci is such a valuable part of our team. She is the Team Treasurer, so she will handle all of our finances, and our resident photographer. Kaci brings such a calmness to our team, and I’m so thankful for how easy she is to be around. Even despite the ku debacle.
This team is going to change the world. I have no doubt, because the Lord brought us together. He whispered, we answered, and He gave us each other, Team Trust Without Borders. We trust God to go across physical borders; we trust to remove any borders that we have played on God; we trust to let each other into our personal/emotional/spiritual borders. Our trust in God, each other and our squad will define our Race.
