First of all, my name is Rebekah Yizazew (pronounced ya-ze-zoo).  I am 20 years old. I am Ethiopian-American, my siser and I are the first generation of our family to be born in America. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and now live in St. Peters, Missouri. I am currently a student at Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA.  I am studying Communications with a spelization in Public Relations.

I grew up with two parents, my mommy, Meselu and my daddy, Ezezew. I have a little sister/best friend Bethel, she is 16 and super cool. When I was 15, there was a new addition to my family and we adopted four of my cousins from Ethiopia! Zemene, Worku, Abigal and Legese. Legese and I are the oldest and the only ones in college right now.

And now here are some random facts about me:

My favorite color is pink. If you know me, then you probably know that already, seeing as how everything I own is pink.

I like to make things. (my knitting needles, sewing machine and hot glue gun are my everything)

I changed my major 5 times my freshman year of college, indecisive much?

I'm SUPER indecisive, I cannot make a desicion and stick with it, to save my life. (you don't even want to know how long it took me to pick a route to apply for)

I am a really bad speller and this does not have auto-corect like my iPhone, so sorry in advance for future spelling errors.

I really really really like Starbucks, ALOT. Like definitely more than I should. (did you know there is a whole website dedicated to how to spell definitely? haha)

I have monstrous, big, curly, hair.

I love love love LOVE elephants. I want to buy an elephant of some sort from every country I go to, so far I have two. Oh yeah and I secretly, but not so secretly, dream of riding an elephant in Asia and Africa.

I have considered dropping out of school and moving to Africa, once a week for the past 2 years.

I went on my first mission trip to Ethiopia last summer and left my heart there, with my boys.

I love having really fun, random adventures.

Why I want to go on the World Race (besides Jesus telling me too):
I have a desire to follow Jesus like the apostles did. I want to be like Peter and drop my fishing net and just follow Him without question. I want to experience God in ways I can't living in America. I want to see God make the blind see, the lame walk, and the deaf hear. I want God to be my everything, I want to learn to depend on God 100%. I want God to reveal Himself to me in crazy ways. I've always wanted to travel. I want to be a missionary but I don't know when, where, or how. I want to serve people all over the world and show them God's love. I want to serve orphans and widows in Africa, I want to serve prostitues in Thailand, I want to serve missionaries in Europe, I want to love on every child in the whole world, I want to see the red light district in Thailand, and the underground churches in China, and I want to see God in all these countries.
