We finished up in Pattaya on December 24 and traveled back
to Bangkok where we met up with the rest of our squad. We were able to spend three days over
Christmas together. It was a nice
time to catch up with all our friends, rest, and just celebrate Christmas and
being together. My team went out
to watch the movie Avatar together. On Christmas night the entire squad got to go out to eat at Outback. It was a wonderful time with some great
food.
One fun thing our squad did for Christmas was we drew names
for Secret Santa. We prayed for
our person all month and then gave them a small gift and wrote a note with
anything we felt like God told us about them while we had been praying. It was a great and encouraging thing to
do.
Honestly, it never felt like Christmas to me. I mean there were decorations up
everywhere, but for me it was just like another day. I mean it is hot here, I’m not with my family and friends,
and the normal things that I associate with Christmas were not here. By no means did I have a bad Christmas
but it just didn’t feel like Christmas.
All in all it was a nice break and good to be with our
entire team again. But on December
27, we headed out to our new ministry site in Thailand.
