Hello all!
It has been a while since I last blogged. We have been traveling a lot, had debrief, and I have had a ton going on with me. So, it has been hard for me to compile all my thoughts and blog. But I am going to attempt to write a few blogs here and update everyone and catch you all up to speed and give you a little glimpse into what is going on with me.
First off…I will just let you know the general details of just where we have been since I last blogged.
We left Costa Rica December 2nd and went to Nicaragua. Our entire squad of about 45 was there for about a week for Debrief. Basically we all get together and have resting time, relaxation time, team debriefs with our squad leaders and coaches. It was an amazing 6 days to process through all that had been happening the last month, hear from other teams about what they were doing, and get refreshed for the next month’s ministry.
We left Nicaragua on December 8th at 3:30am and began our journey to Asia. We took 45 minute bus ride to the airport, took a flight to Miami, flight to LA, California, flight to Taiwan, and then flight to Bangkok Thailand. It was about 27 hours of flying time and 48 hours total traveling time. It was a long two days but I am so excited to finally be in Asia. We all stayed in Bangkok at the YWAM (Youth with a Mission) mission base for three days before we all split up for our month’s ministry. While at the YWAM base we were able to have some cultural orientations, go on a temple tour, and we even helped host their annual Christmas party – we cooked, decorated, and served. It was sort of random but fun.
We then all left for our month of ministry in Thailand. This month the girls and guys are all split up. The boys headed up to Northern Thailand. The girls were then grouped together with other team’s girls for this month. My team has been placed with Team Logos. They have four amazing women on their team and it has been a blessing to be with them this month. We were assigned to Pattaya, Thailand for the first part of the month. Then the entire squad meets back up in Bangkok for three days at Christmas and then my team and team Logos will be headed to a different ministry location to finish out the month.
I am loving being with the new girls, loving being in Thailand, and God is teaching me so much yet again!
