So maybe you're wondering "Why $15,500?" Or maybe you're curious about the breakdown of allocations. Well, lucky for you, my wonderful, amazing, heaven-sent supporters, here's the breakdown of cost for the World Race.
I also included two more opportunities I'm really excited about for raising support that you can help me with 🙂
To date, I have raised almost $1,500 of the total $15,500
The good news is that I do not need the full amount raised before I leave.
The breakdown of money that is due and when:
$3500 2 weeks prior to Training Camp (June 29)
$6500 2 weeks prior to Launch (End of August)
$11,000 End of 3 months on the field (November)
$15,500 End of 6 months on the field (February)
First things first, you want to know where you're money is going.
This will be the money I live off for 11 months (it's less than what most people spend living on 11 months WITHOUT travelling to 11 countries!)
You can break the $15,500 into:
$320 Training Camp
$620 Field Support
$1,860 WR Development Program
$2,635 Administration Fees
$10,075 World Racer
That's 65% of the funds going into my own personal budget which can further be broken down into:
$4,235 Intercontinental Travel
$1,256 Food
$1,758 Lodging
$1,005 Transportation
$1,115 Long Distance Travel & Misc. Supplies
The only things not covered by these funds are my international insurance, travel to and from training camp and launch site, and personal money to live on while on the race ($3-5 per day is included in the aformentioned budget)
2 Thessalonians 5:24 says " Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass." I know God has called me to spend a year loving His people around the world. For those of you who have already supported me, I cannot thank you enough for your generousness. For those of you who have not, and want more information, you can read my support letter here.
AND!! Last but not least – a few great opportunities for you, whether you've already supported me and want to increase that amount, or you haven't supported me and want another way to do so:
1. Partnering with Threads of Hope, Inc. I will be selling bracelets. These bracelets are made by women in Manila, Philippines. By purchasing these bracelets at $2 apiece or 3 for $5 you will be supporting two ministries at once. Not only will half the proceeds go toward the world race, of the other half, 100% goes toward helping families and children at risk in the Philippines provide a living for themselves.
2. T-shirts! Everybody's wearing them, plus they give you a year-long reminder to pray for me 🙂 I am also partnering with Fund The Nations I will be selling T-shirts for my race at a suggested donation price of $20 (but I'm willing to go down to $10) The small text on the shirt lists the countries I will be travelling to, and my blog address.
The bracelets I will have in advance to distribute as I sell them, but the shirts I will have to collect orders and money, then place my order to purchace and receive them for distribution.
