Lately I felt very distracted. You know, like the joke, “How many kids with A.D.D does it take to change a lightbu…WANNA GO RIDE BIKES?”
I cannot speak for all of the other World Racers leaving in July, but for me I feel like I have SO MUCH to do in 3.5 months. Go see out of town friends, purchase gear, purchase clothes, find someone to lease my apartment, worship team, community group, and work, all while continuing to fundraise and spend time with my parent’s and friends who are in town. I have been so scatter brained! But with everything left to do, I think I have been putting all those things before God. Spending time in His word, singing to Him and allowing Him to speak to me.
All those other things are just distractions for the WHOLE POINT of the World Race. The point is to show Jesus through me, to learn more about Him, to see how He works in others…and feel as if I have been failing. The good news is, that I have a Savior who gives me a second chance (and a third chance, fourth chance, fifth chance, sixth chance…) to re-focus. So, i am running back to the point, to the foundation, to the cornerstone.
I do not want you to mis-read me… I am SO SO SO SO THANKFUL for all the love, support and donations. It has been incredible to see how my community has rallied around me. But, I cannot and will no longer let fundraising (or anything else) distract me from learning and growing in Christ. He is the reason for all of this and He alone comes first, above fundraising, above gear, and even above friends and family.
I love because He first loved us. My goal is to be like Jesus.

Now, I want to address the Trivia Night Fundraiser myself and 3 other July World Racers threw and say a huge THANK YOU to all those to contributed and attended the evening. We were blown away by the amount of love and support that was shown throughout the night. We raised over $11,500 which broken out gave each of us around $2,800 each! Wow, we were not expecting such a great turn out! We had over 280 people in attendance and over 50 silent auction items. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
I would like you to know that, because of trivia night, I am now over 50% funded! YOWZA!
