According to Google, I'm 52 minutes and 36.1 miles from home.
According to the World Race, I still have 3 months to go.
Ahhh, layovers. I'm currently sitting at JFK, waiting for our flight to Guatemala via Miami. I made up my mind a few months ago when I heard rumors of having a layover here that making any attempt to meet up with my fiance, friends, or family here would just be an added cause of stress. (How long is our layover? What if the flight runs late? What about when we have to say goodbye all over again? Add to the mix that there is a World Race policy in place that family members can't come visit you on the field.) But, God intervened with a schedule all his own. It turns out that my sister-in-law had a flight out of JFK smack dab in the middle of our layover.

So guess who got to ever-so-briefly see and hug some family members anyway? That's right: this girl. So here I sit after saying goodbye, grateful for God's provision in some hugs and smiles from loved ones, thinking about the next time I'll be at this airport.
July 28th. Late that Saturday night, I'll be here again, finally able to see my fiance after 11 long months, and finally able to go home and hug all those that are still 36 miles and 3 months away. I love you all, and I can't wait to see you!
In case you are wondering:
We are headed to Guatemala for Month 9. This is the final leg of the race, and the remainder of my time will be spent in Central America. I don't have too many details about our ministry, but I do know that I will be located in Antigua and for this month the guys and girls will be ministering separately. My team of 20 girls will be led by Amaris and I'm super excited to have another month with my old Ignition friend!
Before we start this month's ministry, we will be spending the week together as a squad for our Month 8 Debrief. The debrief is designed to help us process the race so far and start mentally preparing for reentry at the end of the race. We also have times of refreshing and refueling with teaching and worship. I'm really looking forward to it and would cherish your prayers that I receive all that God is offering me in this season. Thank you for your blessings!
