Our entire World Race team has made it to
Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico!! We had a 30 hour bus ride from Matamoros and got in last evening. Those showers felt great!!!
We strategized our first race (to a specific temple in a park with magnificent Mayan ruins) and decided to get up in time to put our bags back together and grab a taxi to the ruins. We met a very helpful tour guide and he told us the best way to navigate the park and make it to the top of the temple. As soon as the gates were open, we purchased our tickets into the park and it was a mad dash to the temple. My team, Team 61, came in about third…it was a VERY close call!! We then spent some time in prayer in that beautiful place. We had a few hours to do some exploring and found awesome waterfalls and lots of ancient ruins.
We are about to meet with our contact here in Mexico and discuss the ministry that we will be doing. Please keep us in your prayers as we learn about what God has put in the hearts of those doing long-term ministry here in Mexico. Also please pray that we would all continue to brush up/learn Spanish efficiently. 🙂
