Huong is Vietnamese. She is the youngest of four and the only Christian in her family. Huong told us that she has always questioned the status quo, always looked for more. Through friends she was exposed to the Bible a few times before she accepted Christ as her Savior while studying in Taiwan. She has such a heart for her country, and her people to know God and to live in the freedom that she is daily growing in.

Team Overcome had been established for a couple of weeks and we had all known each other for a month before Huong joined us in Cambodia. None of that mattered and Huong was an Overcomer from the moment she pulled up in the tuk tuk. She dove into ministry along with the rest of us playing volleyball and seeking out one-on-one moments with the people around us. Huong exudes joy and fun. At the high school volleyball tournaments she left our group to ask one of the teenagers if she could stand on his moto. She needed more height to see. Despite only recently learning English herself she readily joined the teaching schedule and planned lessons for her own classes. Huong is also an example to us. She is a relatively new Christian and boldly walks her faith.

Because of limited contacts and limited funds, joining Fusion was a huge leap of faith for Huong. She is still fundraising and confident that God will provide. She needs $3500 to be fully funded for two months.

Huong will stay with Team Overcome through March. She has added the titles of guide and translator here in Ho Chi Minh City. We are so blessed to be living and learning from such a joyful sister.
