Writing has not been on my mind much lately so I apologize to all who have expected to hear from me and haven’t. I have finally gotten some inspiration and so I type. Month 10 is well underway and I am enjoying the simple day-to-day life of living with Pastor Moses and his family. We left the village life of Uganda and arrived here in Rwanda expecting to be about 3 hours from the capital city Kigali. As always life throws curve balls, and our ministry was flipped due to my ankle being injured.

I am thankful for last minute surprises and God’s power to work all things out for our good. Life would not be the same if little Lorie or Debra were not running around squeaking their rubber chicken. The sound of their laugh is enough to make anyone’s stony heart melt away.

I have not gotten to spend much time outside of the comfort of the pastor’s home so my ministry this month looks much different than most. I pass time by reading books, drawing with the girls, and talking to the visitors that come to see the family. It’s easy to have a negative perspective when Satan tries to knock you backwards, but my team reminds me this is a perfect time to process and rest.

Time is racing by and soon I will be back home in America. Some days I ask myself how am I still doing this? Then I remember the joy of spending time with our new friend Jon or joking with five Rwanda women as they try to marry me off to their brothers. Life for me is the perfect mixture of tests and triumphs. Why would I want to be anywhere else? I could not think of a good reason at this moment. When the time comes I will be ready.
