Hey! I'm so happy to finally be able to update you. I have been trying to update this blog since August 9. So please be patient with me since internet is scarce. I'm not even quite sure where to began but I made it to Nairobi, Africa. We stayed at a beautiful hostel where we had two rest days. My team and I left Nairobi early Tuesday morning for a nine hour bus ride to Isibania. Since making it to Isibania my team and I have met our host family. We are staying with a christian family that has graciously opened their home to us. I can't even express how grateful I feel to be welcomed into their home. As soon as we walked through the doorway they began serving us and they are truly a blessing to my team. Just to give you an idea of how they have been serving us, they gave up their beds so that all of us have at least a mattress to sleep on. My team went to a town that is about twenty minutes away from Isibania depending on how fast the taxi is driving. Have you ever tried to squeeze eleven people into a five person car? Well, that is how we drove to Migori. Needless to say it was a little bit nerve racking but that’s The World Race for you. Once in Migori, we searched for internet, but to our disappointment the power was out. So, we moved onto the supermarket to buy food and other little things for the week. Our contact and his wife came along with us to purchase the food for us. Turns out that the store will actually increase the prices just for white people. In case you are wondering, we ended up spending around twenty dollars for food for all seven of us. It was quite the deal. It sounds like we will be doing a wide range of ministry while here in Isibania but, we are starting ministry tomorrow by doing house calls. So more to come later.
