This month in Madagascar, my team and I are working at a school. The school teaches grades k-8, and we have been tasked with teaching 30 minute classes throughout the day. We are teaching all grade levels and are given “assignments” to teach each class. This can range from teaching colors to kindergarteners to teaching English to middle schoolers.

I’ve compiled a small sample of pictures from ministry today to give you a taste of what our typical day at the school looks like. Enjoy!

This is one of the middle school classes we taught this morning. We taught them the Lord’s Prayer in English, then we taught them the song “Father Abraham.” They are always asking us to sing songs to them, so it was nice getting the chance to teach them a Bible song that incorporates movement. This is when they learned the hand motions.

These jokers followed me around during their entire break time to get me to take pictures of them all over the school yard. They loved posing for pictures. This was taken when they were supposed to be standing still in line to go back into the classroom when their break was over.

Before the kids go back into their classrooms after their breaks, they stand in a straight line in front of their teacher. This is a kindergarten class trying to figure out how to stand still.

We spent half of the day teaching P.E. classes. This was our first class of the day doing some warm ups before we taught them new games.

We taught many of our P.E. classes how to play “Simon Says,” and this kids face says it all. They loved this game and loved all of the crazy things we had them do.

As soon as this little stud saw my camera, he immediately decided to strike a pose. He has such a spunky personality. One of his favorite things to do was pose for a picture then laugh hysterically at it when I showed it to him.

If you couldn’t tell, my team and I have really enjoyed our ministry in Madagascar so far. It’s a lot of fun working and playing with the different age groups. The kids here are extremely respectful and have a genuine desire to learn, especially to learn English. Every day when we arrive at the school, they are so excited to see us which makes doing ministry there so enjoyable.

Tomorrow will bring new classes, new challenges, and new curriculum to teach. We are not a team of teachers, but we are working so well together and thriving in our ministry. Thanks for checking out my blog, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated as I’m able!
