Saturday afternoon we headed to Iringa, Tanzania by bus. It was going to be a 24 hour bus ride to Dar es Salaam, but ended up being a 35 hour bus ride. But at any rate, I got to see Tanzania’s beautiful terrain: mountainous, hilly, brushy, a terrain that reminds me of a mix between South America’s lush coast, Hawaii’s palm trees, and Arizona’s rocky terrain. We stayed in Dar es Salaam for two nights at the YWCA and then left Tuesday morning, March 2, to Iringa, Tanzania. On our way to Iringa, we traveled through a national forest where we saw elephants, giraffes, gazelles, monkeys, wildebeast, and pumbas (warthogs :). It was the most beautiful ride ever! We traveled through mountain ranges that reminded me of Montenegro, and I saw monkeys and baboons climbing trees on the side of the road. I felt like this whole trip was a safari! About 6:00pm, we finally arrived in Iringa. We have arrived!  We are here!
