Jehovah Jireh

“And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

I praise Jehovah Jireh, God our Provider!  He started a good work in me and will be faithful to complete it.  God called me to the World Race, and He who is Faithful and True will see me through.  I praise God my Provider!  For the testimony of His love for the nations is moving His people to carry the vision of the World Race to every tongue, tribe, and people group so that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus is Lord over all!

 

Hear now the testimony of His provision for March 2, 2009:

 

As you may already know, I work for the University of Texas at Austin as a Desktop Support Technician.  I have been assigned three UT departments to provide on-site computer support and one of them is located at a hospital close to campus.  Today, while helping a pharmacist with her computer issues at the hospital site, I found out she was Chinese but she grew up in Vietnam.  I started asking her a little more about Vietnam and if she would be willing to teach me Vietnamese.  She said she can teach me how to speak Vietnamese, but not how to write or read it.  I told her that I would be happy with just learning how to speak it. 🙂

 

Later on the day, a friend, who I have shared my mission calling with and my future World Race trek with, made vegetarian curry yesterday and blessed me with a sample of it today.  It was Dehli-cious!  I was touched by his encouragement through this meal.

 

Yet, God had one more blessing this day that would cause my cup to overflow with praise.  Tonight as I was checking my emails, I received an email from a lady whose mom I became friends with while volunteering with her serving food to the campers at the Valley Baptist Retreat Center in Mission, Texas.  It was because of the fun I had volunteering with Lisa and her church group from Joaquin, Texas that I continued volunteering at the Valley Baptist Center a couple months later, leading a Spanish worship service and Bible teaching for the elderly and helped clean around the meditation garden every two weeks. And now, Lisa’s daughter contacts me tonight via email and tells me her missionary church is going to give an offering of all funds raised during their VBS week of June 22 thru 26 to help me in my trip expense.  When I read this email, tears started to flow and all I could do was PRAISE GOD out loud, crying with so much joy!

 

My God IS going to supply all my needs for this trip.  He is going to use His people, even those who I have not yet met, and their resources to accomplish the work He started in me.  My God is faithful to complete it!

 

Thank you, God my Provider!  Thank you for people like Sa who You have given me grace with that she is willing to teach me Vietnamese.  Thank You for my friend John who You used to bless me with a meal today and an ethnic meal at that.  Thank You for Tiffany and the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Joaquin, Texas who I have not yet met but who was moved by the testimony her mother Lisa shared with her about Your work in me and for how her church wants to be part of furthering Your Kingdom by supporting me financially for the World Race.  I am deeply filled with gratitude and my spirit is humbled before You, God my Provider.  Thank You!  Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
