One of the great aspects of doing the World Race is that there’s always a new challenge awaiting. Yikes, that sounds intimidating! But it’s so true! Whether they are clearly evident or sneak up on you, God is constantly placing people, situations, tasks, and many other opportunities to establish steady growth in our lives. Recently, my entire squad underwent a new challenge we like to call…. wait for it…

t e a m CHANGES!

So you’re telling me that I have to be okay with starting ALL over, opening up my heart to a whole new group of people, saying goodbye to the family I bonded with the past three months, and jump right into a new team? Yep, that’s pretty much the gist. Of course it could sound a bit scary and uncomfortable… But isn’t it that way with God? Didn’t he call Gideon to LEAD an army to victory while he was in hiding? God is constantly placing new circumstances in our lives that will stretch us. He loves to throw new situations our way that we are incapable of facing unless we cling to Him. It’s all part of the process of cultivating utter dependence on Him.

Something I love about C squad is that God has united us together to gladly welcome this attitude of reliance on Jesus. That no matter what change comes our way, we are learning to understand that His way is perfect and He has called us to greater things, which might not always be the most comfortable thing. Though most of us were nervous and curious about team changes, anxiously awaiting the day our squad would gather together in Brasov, Romania, to announce the new teams, there was a peace that calmed our hearts. Whether our initial reaction to our new teams was rejoicing with “relief” or sighing with, “Lord, how am I going to survive with this person on my team??”, or whatever else, I know God’s plan is much bigger than our own. And I am so excited to see His affection poured out into our new teams, both towards one another and to the people we’re reaching, as we make a daily choice to embrace this new change!

All that being said, I would like to introduce you to my NEW team… DUN DUN DUN…

 —TEAM UNVEILED PURSUIT!—

(Left to Right: Rebecca Spires, Dania Spillett, THIS GIRL, Matt Blair, Tyler Hamilton, Michael Jensen)

I have received the opportunity to be the team leader of this new team, and I am so excited for what God’s got in store for us these next few months! We call ourselves Team Unveiled Pursuit, because we believe God is in constant, intimate pursuit of our hearts as we pursue His,

and that He has called us to walk in the fullness of His glory with unveiled faces, radiantly reflecting His love and power towards ALL!
