– – – > TESTIMONY of PROVISION:
A missionary friend of mine has been on furlough the past few months in the U.S. to rest and raise support to return to China, where she has been teaching ESL (English as a second language) to Chinese college students. Recently she felt the Lord preparing her to move back to China in September, though her support was not fully raised. In faith she began to pack her bags, remain faithful in hosting fundraisers, and trust God for the rest. Indeed, He did! Just a few days ago I received a phone call from her, saying that someone bought her two plane tickets- one to go to Virginia to see her son, and the second to return to China! What an awesome testimony of God's faithfulness and provision!
The fact is- when God calls, He supplies. One of my favorite quotes is from Hudson Taylor, a missionary to China, in which he states,
"God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply."
I find myself grasping the power that our Father holds, yet often forgetting to live by it. I've been reading The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson and am blown away by the stories of God's miraculous provision towards his ministry in New York City. He simply trusted God on a daily basis, obeyed God's tasks, and saw God's outpouring faithfulness and timely supply for every need.
This week I am moved to step out boldly in faith, trusting in God for all of my needs, and obtaining confidence in His promise of provision. I am motivated to keep running this "race", literally 😀 I am re-evaluating my steps of action in support raising, allowing HIM to lead them instead of fueling off of my own agenda. I am basing it not only on obedience and diligence, but also through dedicated prayer and trust in Him.
I hope that whoever reads this, whether a fellow racer or anyone else, will find encouragement to:
know the power that our God holds,
that when He calls He WILL provide,
and that He IS faithful!
