Going to training camp I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had fears of the unknown and doubts of ‘should I even go on this mission’?
So when day one of training camp finally came as I’m settling in at camp my nerves start to calm down. The days to follow became not only physically and emotionally challenging but they pushed me to limits I never thought I could reach. Leaving behind the daily comforts of something so simple as hot showers, running water, electricity, my bed and not being able to contact the people I love on a daily basis. In that discomfort I was able to reach new intimacies with God. I’ve never experienced such peace in my heart, worship so powerful, and prayers so meaningful. I have no doubt that this is where He wants me to be.
I feel more equipped having gone through training camp. Those 10 days of training have prepared me emotionally to able to minister to the people in Asia. I know there will be good days and bad days out on the field but I feel ready to take on what’s yet to come. And it helps that I have an amazing team by my side!
