I live a life of gratitude. I am thankful for every breathing and beating moment of life that God has given me. I am grateful that God is the biggest part of that life. I am grateful for the family He chose to place me in, and for all the joy and love we share. I am grateful for my parents who love me unconditionally and stand by my side in every decision I make and every crazy adventure I decide to embark on. I am grateful for my friends from all my seasons of life; for their endless support and for being the best friends I could ever ask for. I am grateful for being on the World Race, and for every life event that led to the conversation that led to the application that led to the interview that led to the airplane that led to the world.
I am grateful for the rain that falls and the wind that blows. I am grateful for creatures big and small (even those that make me squirm and scream). I am grateful for the people that walk this Earth, because they add beauty to the world.
I am grateful to live a life without major needs. I am grateful that I have food to eat and a place to sleep at night. I am grateful that there is a roof over my head. I am grateful that I am not in debt. I am grateful that I was never peer-pressured. I am grateful to be free. I am grateful that I have seen so many places around the world. I am grateful to have grown up in Chile. I am grateful to be half-American, half-Chilean, and to have experienced so much beauty and life in each of those countries. I am grateful to have studied abroad. I am grateful to have graduated college, grateful to be a UCSB alumni. I am grateful for my time spent in Florida with To Write Love on Her Arms. I am grateful to be a part of something I believe in. I am grateful for the passions and things that move me. I am grateful to have been used by God to save lives. I am grateful that my time isn’t over and that He keeps me breathing. I am loved, and I am grateful.
And I still have an entire life of gratitude left to live.
“We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” –2 Corinthians 4:8-9
