God is running towards you, he longs to be with you….. These were the words constantly in my head while I walked down the streets of Patong Beach.
In Thailand we had the opportunity to work with SHE ministries. With SHE we went out several times a week to Bangla Road in Patong beach which is known for Sex Trafficking . It was very hard to walk down the streets and see what was going on… but God was there. He was reaching out and loving on people through us and other people who have been there time after time showing the people on the streets what the Love of Christ is all about
While walking in the bars I see this on one of the pillars…
God has not given up on us! God is continuing to pursue the broken hearted and lonely everyday even when we cannot see it. The people in Bangla Road just want to be loved and they constantly try to fill their emptiness with what the world has to offer. Through their pursuit to fill themselves God is calling them, He is there and pulling them in with his love. We were being his ambassadors, loving the girls, bar owners and tourist without expectation. We didn't want anything in return just to point everyone to the God who satisfies the deep longing within us. It is awesome how God is not scared of our brokenness and sin in this world, he continues to approach us and stretch his arm of mercy and grace everyday to bring us closer to him. God is with the stripper, the prostitutes, the bar owner, the tourist, He is with us and longs to be close.
