I’m so sorry I haven’t written any blogs in the last few weeks, but I promise I’ll really try to start keeping up to date. This first month and a half has definitely been a time of unlearning and learning, brokenness and rebuilding, and then learning some more. I think each person on the K Squad has experienced this either with their new family or on their own.

I already know that God works in ways that we can’t even imagine, but I keep getting this fact shoved in my face more and more. Although I have read more on this trip than usual, I am not much of a reader. I love reading books, but I just can’t seem to keep my attention on a story. Since this trip has started I have found a lot more time to read my Bible. Almost every time when I am reading a book I come across a story that reminds me of a story in the Bible, so then I have to search that out. This leads me to wonder about other stories in the Bible that may relate to this and I end up spending several days researching a little story about how a guy was healed when mud was rubbed in his eyes. Then I’m like “WOW!” This is not just some little story, but how we have a God so amazing that something so ridiculous can have such a big impact on so many lives. In the Gospel, John gives the story of the man how was born blind and received his sight by a little clay being wiped on his eyes. I could imagine that this guy was pretty happy, and couldn’t wait to tell everyone. I believe that Jesus had a bigger purpose from the start. It was nothing for Him to heal a blind man, but he caused the Pharisees to realize that they were blind also.

God has opened my eyes to many different thingsin the past, and even though it wasn’t with a little spit and some dirt, God has used some creative ways to open my eyes and see that He is really there.
