PLOT TWIST: we’re coming back to Cambodia! Next month my team has the unique opportunity to spend one week in Pattaya, Thailand reaching out and creating relationships with women trapped in the sex trade. Will be going straight into the bars where these women are repeatedly forced to interact and have sex with the men who purchase them as if they are property.
Next, while the rest of our squad stays in Thailand, we will return back to Cambodia (this time to Siem Reap instead of Phnom Penh) to assist and support Adventures in Missions newly acquired hostel. They are using this hostel as a way to support their new long term base that will be used for future Racers and long term missionaries.
Seth Barnes, founder of Adventures in Missions, posted the following about this hostel that we will be staying/working at for two weeks:
“Adventures in Missions, the organization I run, recently acquired a guesthouse in Cambodia. Along with it, it appears that we acquired some residents that came with the property. Late at night, our guests have been hearing demonic voices threatening death.
This may be the stuff of Hollywood movies, but does anyone believe that stuff is real? Well, we do. I received an email from our base leaders a few days ago about the need for “both natural and spiritual deep cleaning.”
“We have been turning over beds, sweeping away cob webs and washing walls, we have also been removing idols and cultural artwork of temples and false gods from the building then praying over and anointing each room. The best way I can describe it is it’s like we’re doing inner healing and deliverance on a business.”
Our team is about to face possibly one of our most spiritually difficult months on the Race. There is a lot of evil and darkness that comes with working with a sex trafficking ministry, and then we will move straight to this hostel mentioned above.
I would love to have you all praying for and with us over this next month. We are staying at the hostel Sunday and Monday nights as we transition to Thailand, and we are meeting up with another World Race squad that is in Cambodia right now. We will be doing a worship night with them where we will be praying and binding the enemy in Jesus name.
This stuff is real guys. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. It has affected me personally. I’ve seen it affect my team and squad mates.
We do not fear because we know that “God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” We stand confident and assured that we have the full power and authority of the Holy Spirit because Romans 8:11 says “the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”
My team is a powerful, spirit led, and authoritative group of women. As we prayed about the opportunity presented to us for this month, we knew that it was going to be extremely challenging in ways we may have not experienced before. The Lord has been preparing us for this and we know that He goes before us and is with us.
So please join Team Abundant Life in fervently praying over the darkness in Pattaya, Thailand and Siem Reap, Cambodia. Pray that Jesus’ name will be exalted and that the enemy flees in His presence. Pray for protection and light to surround us as we move from one dark and heavy place to another. Pray that the multi-squad worship night will be so filled with the Spirit that any and all evil presences will run in fear with their tails between their legs and never return.
We are ready to take on whatever the Lord has for us next month, and will will stand even more firmly knowing that we have a community of people praying for and with us!
