Recently my teammate, Ashley, hosted a unique team time that the Lord has asked me to share with you.
This team time included us spending 30 minutes with God, sitting in His presence, and asking Him about our “Original Design.” We asked Him two fundamental questions: Who am I in Christ? and What does God say about me, specifically my character?
Here is what I heard my Father say to His precious daughter:
“My beloved. I am enthralled by your beauty, the kind that comes from a gentle and quiet spirit. You are forgiven completely, you are a new creation, perfectly whole, blameless in My sight. You are pure. Your mind and your heart have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
You are My daughter whom I cherish. You are My precious little girl and My strong, godly woman. You are Mine. You are My perfect design, both inside and out.
You were created for a very specific purpose. You were not an accident. You were created on purpose, with purpose. You are going to change your section of the world.
You are seen. You are known. You are deeply loved. You are enough. You are worthy. You are desired. You are pursued.
You are a powerful woman – yes, woman. You are not a little girl anymore. You have matured into the woman you were designed to be today. You are not a “future” woman, you are a “right now” woman.
Your beauty comes from the way you love Me and pursue Me with your heart and life. That is where your beauty shines.
You know how much you love Caleb? [that’s my 6 year old brother] You can’t even begin to imagine how much more I love you.
You don’t have to work to be a daughter, it’s just who you are. It’s encoded in your DNA to be My child. There is nothing more to work towards. You have already been given a new name when I took you in and adopted you as my own. Nothing can take that away.
I have the only perfect, complete love available, and it’s already yours.
Hear me, RaeLynn Marie DeFalco – I love you.
Stop trying to get it right. Stop trying to earn my love. I just want to do life with you. I want to hold your hand as you walk beside Me. I want to do the business of life side by side.
I am your perfect Creator, Father, and Husband. You are my perfect creation, daughter, and bride.”
I was hesitant to share this because it seemed too personal to me. But the Lord said that I’m not the only one who needed to hear these words.
These words are for you as well.
Don’t just skim through them and think “Oh, that’s nice.” Go back and really read them. Let them sink into not only your mind, but your heart as well.
When you step into a relationship with Jesus, you are given a new identity.
Daughter.
I think it’s time we move past the head knowledge part and let it permeate every inch of our hearts. Because once this new identity has sunk deep into the depths of our souls, we start to actually walk like daughters. It’s no longer just words, it’s actions. It’s a mindset. It’s freedom to partner with God instead of work for God.
As my squad mentor Jeremy always says, “Life is about intimacy with the Father.” That’s what it comes down to. God doesn’t want us to reluctantly and sluggishly obey Him. He wants us to gladly and joyfully walk in step with Him in every area of our lives. He wants to transform the way we view ourselves. He wants to demolish all of the lies our society has drilled into our minds about who we are and how we are supposed to live.
My prayer is that you will experience the freedom, rejoicing, and fun that comes with holding your Heavenly Father’s hand as you walk through life together.
