When you first get to know me, there are generally two random facts you learn very quickly: I don’t have a belly button, and I am petrified of spiders

So why would I willingly eat a tarantula, you may ask?

Let me introduce you to my 2nd fundraiser:

BUY A DAY ON THE WORLD RACE!

Here’s some math for you. I’m on the world race for approximately 330 days. The total cost of the trip is $16,267. That equals out to about $50 per day.

So for this fundraiser, I am asking that you sponsor part of a day, a whole day, a few days, or even a whole week if you feel so inclined!

Half day = $25
One day = $50
One week = $350

Here’s the cool part – you can choose whatever day you want from September 2015 – July 2016! You can buy your birthday, your favorite number (under 31 of course), an anniversary, or whatever day you want!

But why should you?

Here’s where me eating a tarantula comes in.

If 31 days of the World Race are sponsored in the next 31 days, I will eat a tarantula, and record it for your viewing pleasure (click the link for a sample video. View at your own risk!)

Yes friends, you read that correctly. I, RaeLynn DeFalco, girl eternally terrified of spiders, will EAT a tarantula if 31 days (a total of $1,550) of the World Race are sponsored by April 25, 2015.

So you’re on board, are you? You want to make me eat a spider? I see how it is. Well okay then, let me tell you how this works.

Just click the link on this blog that says {Support Me!} and donate the amount of money that corresponds to however many days you would like to sponsor.

Then let me know which day(s) you chose! Either contact me on Facebook, by phone or text, or my blog by commenting or sending a message using the Contact Me link. You’ll get a little something special from me on the day(s) that you choose.

If for any reason you do not want to donate through my blog, just let me know and we’ll work something out 🙂 Thank you for helping me get one step closer to being fully funded!

Bon Appetite!

Disclaimer: Tarantulas are a common “snack” in Cambodia, which is one of the countries I am scheduled to serve in. If for some reason my route changes (which happens often) and I do not end up in Cambodia, I can’t guarantee I will have the opportunity to eat a tarantula. Because believe me, I will NEVER eat a “wild” spider, no matter how much y’all donate 😉 I’d find a way to make it up though!
