I was stunned when we arrived at our new home. The living conditions exceeded my expectations by a long stretch! I am living in a safe neighborhood at a beautiful house with two other teams. We are not only blessed with such an amazing home, but also our Ministry, Nueva Generación, is more than I could imagine!
It is lead by Luis Castillo, a joyful man of God who has a passionate vision for bringing God’s Kingdom to earth through this ministry. He constantly reminds us that he does not do anything unless the Lord calls him to do it. Oh what a beautiful way to live.
The Lord has called Luis to minister to Guatemala through multiple ways: teach ESL and music classes in a neighboring city-state, teach value classes to youth Antigua, help in a home for men and women with cerebal palsy, build homes for families who live on less than $2 per day, disciple youths around the area every friday night, and train a group of Guatemalans for a mission trip.
Over these next three months I will personally have a role in four of these opportunities mentioned. Every Tuesday and Thursday I will teach ESL. Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays I will be building a home for Juanito and his family(who live on less than $2 per day) and/or assisting in the home for men and women between the ages of 2-40 who have cerebal palsy. And each Saturday I, along with five other squad mates, will help prepare the hearts of a group of 15 Guatemalans who will be leaving in December for Honduras to spread God’s Kingdom.
Spreading God’s Kingdom..
I am realizing that that is our mission statement. I am not here to simply do for God. It goes far beyond that, and far beyond the mission opportunities I have each week. I am not here to simply do for God, but I am here to be for God. I am here to be in His presence and to be a part of spreading His Kingdom. I have never been so satisfied yet so hungry at the same time. He is enough and He is making this Truth more alive than ever before. I am satisfied. Yet there is this restless discomfort inside. I am hungry for more, and I am not okay with stopping now. I pray that the Lord will keep me hungry for the rest of my days- Until His Kingdom come, His will be done.
Prayer Requests:
~Remain Kingdom minded every.single.day.
~Trust in His timing and His purposes for my specific role
