With Training Camp coming up in only 8 days, I figured it was a good time to test out setting my tent up. Any helpful tips, insight, or pointers are greatly welcomed!!!
Step 1: Trek into the recesses of your backyard with your pack on.

Step 2: Scout out a flat area that is free from sticks or fire ant mounds.
Step 3: Lay out our footprint (tarp to protect the bottom of your tent). Flip it over because it’s upside-down. Wait…does it matter?
Step 4: Lay your tent on top of your footprint, matching the colored ends (Thank you, REI!)
Step 5: Figure out which of these holes the stakes go in, and then stake your tent down.
Step 6: Connect your poles and lay them in their correct place on your tent.
Step 7: Place the ends of your poles in the appropriate holes and begin hooking your tent to the poles.
DONE! Unless you want to put the rain cover on….
Step 8: Drape your rain fly over the top of your tent (Again, thank you REI for the easy match-the-colors system) and secure it to the ends of the poles.
Step 9: Find random string in the bag with the stakes…. Uh… I hope this isn’t important because I have no idea what to do with that. Ask for help at Training Camp…
Step 10: Step back and admire your handiwork!!
Step 11: Roll out your sleeping pad and let it self inflate! Praise Jesus for self inflating sleeping pads!!
Step 12: Roll out your sleeping bag and pillow and have a comfortable night’s sleep in your new home for the next year.
