Month 10.

We have been in Swaziland for about 10 days now and it has been chaos. Last week was PVT (Parent Vision Trip) and our squad had 23 racers with parents here! So for the 5 days they were here, our squad was split. The PVT racers and non-PVT racers were separated because it was such a large group, they couldn’t accommodate everyone at the same place. Our teams were split, ministry looked different, and without wifi or working phones, it was all about flexibility.

So for the first 5 days we were here, us non-PVTers, did ATL (Ask the Lord). We did prayer walks, prayed over kids who just accepted Christ, and talked/prayed with people who worked in the market. Besides the initial confusion, it was overall relaxing and a good time to refuel for the next 2 months.

Now, we are back to normal with our teams, location, and ministry and began our Month 10 officially this week. Half of the squad is still in Manzini (the capital and where PVT was), while the other half is in Nsoko (a village about 2 hours away). Our group (Manzini) is split into 2 groups, manual labor and care points (with some office work on the side).

The care points are sponsored by individuals, churches, and organizations from all over the world. They are made up of preschools, after school programs, and serve nutritious meals for kids in the community. They are run by Swazis to try and further redemption in this country by the locals instead of depending on foreigners to come to the “rescue”.

I am working at a care point with about 40 kids ages 4 and 5 with one other squad mate. They are loud, full of energy, and just wanted to be loved. So for the next 3 weeks we will be working 4 days a week, assisting the teachers with preschool activities. Even though it’s only been a few days, I know it will be an exhausting but rewarding month here in Swazi. Thanks again for all your prayers and encouragement! More updates to come!
