Hey Everybody!
I am so excited to begin this journey! I got accepted just a few weeks ago and it has been a whirlwind so far. Going on the World Race has been an ongoing adventure for a few years now and I am still in disbelief that it is finally here. It amazes me how much my relationship with God has grown so much in the past 6 months, and I know that it will continue to grow while I am on this journey!
So here is just a little history about me. I was born and raised in the small town Tullahoma, Tennessee. I attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga for about 2 years. I took this past semester off to try and discover what I was meant to do with my life and God led me to the World Race! I have a passion for working with kids, and I know God will show me the path on what to do with this gift.
I have an amazing family support system that are just as excited as I am to start this adventure. In the words of my nephew, “11 months, that’s a month short of a year!”. It hasn’t sunk in that I will be leaving them for almost a year, but their support and encouragement reassures me that I am doing God’s will for my life.
If you don’t know anything about the World Race, here is just a quick summary of what it is, where I will be going, and who I will be with for the next year and a half. I really hope that y’all will follow me throughout this journey!
The World Race
The World Race is an 11-month mission trip that travels to a different country each month all of the world. There are several different routes and I will be traveling on route 3. Route 3 travels to India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa.
Who all is going?
Each route has a squad of around 50 people. We will split into smaller teams and travel to different parts of the country for that month. My squad and team will be like my family for the next year and a half and everyone has been so welcoming and supportive already that I feel connected to them and I know that feeling will grow.
What we will be doing
Each country has a different need. We will be connecting with different local ministries that can help guide us in the direction of how we can best help the people.
How can you help?
There are many things you can do to help! I have to raise 17,017 to be fully funded for this trip. So any contribution will help! There is a “Support Me” link in my blog that takes you to my fundraising page. There are options for one time donations and monthly donations.
Prayer is also needed. My squad and I appreciate any prayers and encouragement that you send our way.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me! Thank you so much!
