I wake up every morning. I can think of 1000 things I could
complain about. I am sweating and I haven’t even moved. It smells bad here. My
stomach hurts. I miss my family. I miss my friends. I don’t want to teach
today. I am upset because that girl was mean to me. I would kill for some ice
cream. BUT REALITY CHECK.
Does that get me anywhere but death?
I challenge you to take action and not complain today. The
world is not a pretty place. There is plenty to complain about. But our Kingdom
is something that is praiseworthy. We HAVE to stop this lifestyle of woe is me,
I need, I want, I deserve mentality that gets us no where but to a place of
being unsatisfied, wanting more than we need and feeling like we deserve what
we don’t have.
Think about all the blessings you have and thank God for
them.
Do you have a roof over your head? or a roof that doesn’t
leak when it rains. Do you have walls on your home!? Did you eat breakfast
today. Are you disease free? Did you eat lunch today without fear that you
might get a worm? Did you have medicine to stop your pain or help with your
allergies? did you breathe this morning and have another day of life that has a
purpose? Do you have someone to love? Do you have someone who loves you? Do you
have a mom, a dad, a brother, a sister!? Did you sleep and rest well in a clean
bed? Did you put on clean clothes today? Did you sleep in air conditioning? Did
you have a bible to read in your language when you needed a fresh word? Did you
have a car to get where you needed to go? Did you have a cell phone to call
someone when you needed something? Do you have a church to go to? Did you have
a doctor to visit when you got hurt? Do you have a facebook to keep you
entertained? Do you have an education that allows you to do the things you
love? Can you write your name? Can you feed your child? Can you pick what you
eat today? Did you get coffee to get you going this morning? Do you live in a
place safe enough to get your morning jog in and stay healthy!? Do you have
somewhere sanitary to put your trash? Did you use the restroom in a toilet this
morning?! Did you take a shower in clean water? Do you worry when you drink
your water? Did you use your iphone when you got lost? Can you wash your hands?
The list goes on… its time we take some time to stop and
thank god for all the things we have.
Im done. Im done needing things. The things I need are already given to
me therefore I don’t need them anymore.
