So I have this tradition (which I stole from my bestie Brett) to make a top albums of the year list, every year. It helps keep me up on my music, but serves as a sort of reminder of how my year went. I think of albums as friends who weathered season after season in life with me. They are the soundtrack of my thoughts and heart for the year. I usually try to only include albums released in the same year, but ya know, a girl can get a year or two behind from time to time.
Though I wasn’t as able to keep up with the music scene this year while on the race, I got some good stuff from fellow squadmates…songs and stories that accompanied me through losing my grandmother, leaving home, and surviving the storms and celebrations of the last 7 months in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
