Friends and Family and Complete Strangers who stumbled across this blog,

I thought I would give some more details about the trip I’ll be going on in August of 2016.

What I know:

1.) I’ll be spending 11 months involved in ministry as a short-term missionary with the organization, Adventure in Missions, in the following countries: Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize. Each of these countries are gripped by poverty and thirsty for hope. I’ll be partnering with the local churches and serving in the areas of greatest need. This includes sharing the love of Christ which is definitely the greatest need everywhere.

2.) I can’t do this on my own. It will be hard and out of my comfort zone. I will need support from many friends and family, and from the team that I travel with. I will need to rely on the Holy Spirit every moment of every day. But that’s how God intends us to live our lives anyways.

3.) This trip will change me, my team, those we come in contact with overseas, and YOU. If you’re involved in supporting me in any way, you have a chance of being changed for the better. Whether you offered up a prayer for me or my team, sent a small gift or a large gift of money, or you subscribe to this blog and continue to read updates of what God is doing, you will have a chance to see God work. And, trust me, you won’t want to miss out on that. Our God is a powerful God.

What I don’t know:

1.) I don’t know what ministry will look like in each country, but God does. I’m praying He prepares the hearts of those there, my heart, and the hearts of my teammates so that all that we do honors God and has a deep impact.

2.) I don’t know all that God will teach me, but I know it will ultimately be good. I’m praying He will show me His heart for the lost, sick, hurt, lonely, and dying people in the corners of the world, His heart that led Him to die for them. I’m praying He will show me more of His character.

3.) I don’t know how I’m going to get the money I need to go on this trip. But I do know that God is faithful. He has proved again and again that money is not a obstacle when it comes to accomplishing His will. God is the All Powerful Provider. If He wants me to go somewhere and do something, there is nothing that will get in His way.

Thanks for taking a moment to read more about my journey! If God has laid it on your heart, please pray/donate/subscribe. This trip is only possible with God’s blessing and your support!

Love from your sister in Christ,

Rachel
