So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him.

[Matthew7:11]

About a week ago, this was the verse I was clinging to. I had become very discouraged about this world race trip- my fundraising ideas seemed to be falling through, the money wasn’t coming in, and I had honestly questioned if God still wanted me to go. Until one morning at around 5am God woke me up with a word of encouragement and knowledge. He told me, “Rachel, don’t you see? All these things haven’t been taken away because I changed my mind about sending you. They have only been taken away temporarily.. because you are Job right now, Rachel. I have faith in your stubborness (which I like to think of as your perserverance)..so much so that I allowed satan to let things to stop falling into place for you because I knew you wouldn’t turn away but instead you would look to Me and overcome. And as you do, I will bless you for it.”
After getting that word, I made sure I claimed it and asked some friends to be praying for my faith to increase that God would provide. One of my friends responded by encouraging me that “God was going to blow my mind” and told me to read Matthew 7 and focus on verse 11. So I did and reminded myself of that verse when the enemy would cause me to doubt.
Then last Saturday I got a call from a girl named Katie. We had talked through facebook a couple times because we both had a passion for mission work but I don’t know her very well so the call was pretty random. As she talked she told me about how one of her mother’s friends, Ms. Harrison, had a lady come into her office wanting to give money away to a good cause and how Ms. Harrison suggested Katie because she was fundraising for a mission trip. The lady donated to Katie’s trip and then asked if Ms. Harrison knew of anyone else. She then remembered Katie talking about a girl who was trying to raise $15,000 for an 11 month mission trip and told her about me:) The lady went home that night to think about it and came back to Ms. Harrison’s office the next morning. When she got there she told Ms. Harrison that she couldn’t sleep the night before because all she could think about was how she needed to donate money to this 11month mission trip!!! Ahhhh!:):) Praise God! She then asked Ms. Harrison to get my information and anonymously give me a donation of $9,000!!! YYYAAAY!
Needless to say, my phone conversation with Katie ended with screaming and laughing and praising God!
God has blessed me so much through this lady and I am so thankful for her! I pray He continues to work through her life and that He blesses her in every way:)
So there is no way to really end this blog other than to say that Praise be to God and I hope everyone who reads this is encouraged and reminded of 2 things…
1) God gives AMAZING gifts to His children– so believe & claim that:)
and
2)”For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

May God be glorified by you and may His blessing flow into your life:)
Through HIS love,
Rachel
