Ladies of Light left the KIM Base with Team Rescued Identity on the 13th, which was Tuesday. It was way bittersweet, but we all knew that our ministry this month was going to be great. 🙂 Hard, but really good.
We met with our contacts for the month 10 minutes after saying goodbye to Rescued Identity. Ron and Joanna are great people. Ron is from the Philippines and Joanna is from Scotland. Their hearts are so solid and what they were about to tell us with our ministry broke our hearts.
We found out our ministry will be in Tondo and Navatos this month. Tondo is considered the place in Manila where the “lepers” live. They are the low of the low. Some of the girls have already gotten negative looks from Christians when we say Tondo. Ladies of Light is under God’s protection for sure, but there are things that happen here that are not okay.
I told you all I would try to be super honest and transparent when explaining things, so here it goes. This place is no where where you would want your child to grow up. There is abuse, depression, murder, way below poverty, and they are literally walking around in their own sludge.
How is this okay????
Navatos
Navatos is also a place where you would not want your child to grow up. It’s right next to the ocean and in order to cross over to tiny box houses, there are wood bridges. But when I say wood bridges, I mean to say thin pieces of wood that are starting to rot. And I failed to mention this. Navatos is a cementery. Yeah, I don’t understand how it’s okay. These people are living in complete poverty and how is it fair that I am living out of a backpack with multiple outfits.
In both locations, we are partnering with the Philippine Christian Foundation Community Church. We have already shared testimonies, feed many children, and tonight we have a youth drop-in.
Please be in prayer for these areas. They are hungry for the truth and pray that Ladies of Light would be so vunerable to allowing the Lord to use us to pour into them.
