Wow, okay. So sorry
that I haven’t blogged yet. There is so
much to share with you!
First, we just trained in Gainesville, GA for our
launch. This place was so amazing! Our squad, Z-Squad, as well as A-Squad, were
launching from Little Mexico, GA. (Not
the real name) 😉 This was pre-exposure
to our life on the Race. We were based
out of a church for 3 days and welcome to communal living!!!! I will just say that Z-Squad is amazing! These people are so after the Lord’s
heart! Our budget was $3/meal/person. It’s actually fairly easy; you just eat a lot
of fruit and sandwiches.
Best thing from launch besides hanging out with my squad and
team:
·
Being able to have a 1 ½ hour conversation with
a man named Pedro from El Salvador.
Pedro is a member of the church, but has a heart after the Lord in so
many ways. It was great to be able to
hold a conversation with him in Spanish and in that, he was able to share his
heart for the world knowing the Word also.
Launch was hard, however I knew for a fact that this was/is
what the Lord was calling me to.
FAST FORWARD 40 HOURS
YAY! We are in
Manila, Philippines! Personally, the
flights didn’t seem too long. We had a
14 hour flight from LAX to Hong Kong.
Surprise surprise I slept 13 of the 14 hours, and the other hour was for
eating meals. I think I have mastered
how to do life on the Race. Well, at
least travel days! Just sleep the whole
plane ride!
Manila is gorgeous! I
feel like I’m back in Peru and so many things here break my heart. However, I know the Lord is the God over this
city and we are declaring it over the city!
Once we arrived, the whole squad went to the KIM base in
Manila to rest and relax. It’s been
great, because I’ve been able to sleep, but I have peace. I’m at rest with what the Lord wants to do in
this city and I know it’s going to be HUGE!
KIM, headed up by some missionaries from the States has me so excited to
go into the dump and pour out my heart for those children. I know it’s not the “ideal” location, however
I am counting on seeing ridiculous things happen in this place and seeing the “Ladies
of Light” bring the light into such a dark and deep place!
Tomorrow, (I’m 13 hours ahead of Central Time) “Ladies of
Light-LOL” will meet our contact and learn about our ministry for the
month! Until then, I will be chilling
with the street kids of Manila.
Including Genesis. J This child is so incredible and I know there
is so much for him in this city!
Also, I will try to keep you updated with pictures!!!! Because pictures are always wonderful!
Love ya’ll!
