No, this blog is not about dating or boys!  Rather, this is about sweets, such as pie, cheesecake, cookies, chocolate, chocolate chip cookie dough ICE CREAM, mint chip ICE CREAM and junk that tastes oh so wonderful!  That junk, by the way is not good for your body! 😉  I was reading one of my friend’s blogs about 1 month ago and was caught off guard thinking “Oh, I should do that.”  Kelly had mentioned that fact that she loves chocolate.  So to make the story short and to the point, Kelly was going to fast chocolate until she reached the $6,000 mark, which is the needed amount for Launch.  I will just tell you that Kelly saw crazy things happen and she’s way past the $6,000 mark.

So, this is going to happen with me, not that I’m wanting competition with Kelly, but I’m fasting sweets until I reach the halfway mark ($7,400).  I have been relying way too much on sweets as a comfort when I’m freaking out, and to say the least I should be relying on the Lord, rather than the several hundreds of calories I’ve consumed in the last couple weeks. This is pretty gross!  Sorry!  I’m admitting that the last couple weeks haven’t been easy, but I guess when you are a Christ follower, nothing’s going to be E-Z. 😉

I have also been satisfying worry with consuming treats upon treats and it’s just not good.  Worry-that God will not provide the funds for this trip.  This sounds pathetic, but checking my support account has become a daily (if not several times a day) ritual.  This is not healthy and worry tends to creep in when I don’t see anything new in my account.  So, on top of fasting sweets for however long God feels necessary, I will be fasting from looking at my support account until May 1st.  Squadmates-please hold me accountable!  In place of checking my support account and having a sweet tooth, I will be reading about Abraham, so my next blogs will be about how God is using Abraham’s story to teach me some new, exciting things about faith and trust!

Thanks for bearing through this with me!
