Why, yes I am writing this at 4:30 am…

I have arrived safe and sound back in the good ol’ USA.  PTL 🙂

I had to say goodbye to many dear friends at the airport yesterday afternoon, but was greeted by one of my best friends (Jordan) making it a much easier transition.

Even after riding on the right side of the road, having a delicious homemade meal, getting to go on a walk around the neighborhood, catching up with Jordan all night–meaning as late as I could or 10 pm Eastern :), and spending the night in an awesome bed (Thanks Nate for the hookup!), it still doesn’t feel real.  It doesn’t right that it’s over, that we finally made it to the end.

I struggling to grasp the concept that I’m home and the Race is truly done.  That it is finished…
I didn’t think this year was ever going to end.  But now that it’s over, which feels very abrupt, it doesn’t seem possible that I was actually gone for a year, that I missed Christmas and Easter, countless birthdays and engagements, as well as a handful of weddings and other big milestones.

I hope I don’t fall over when I see how big my nephews are or lie limp in my room as I look at how much stuff I have (I already have a purge planned for my closet!).  But give me grace if I do.  And PLEASE be praying for me in this time.  It doesn’t feel hard right now, but it doesn’t feel real either, so once I make it back to reality I’m sure it will be a bit tougher.  Pray against apathy, forgetfulness, loneliness and a critical heart.

Thank you all so much for praying for me throughout this wild journey! I hope to see you soon and share some stories in person!
