Today is the day! I spent the last week consolidating my material possessions into 2 backpacks and I am leaving on a jet plane in 7 hours to meet my squad in Atlanta and be launched to India! In case you missed it, here are a few things I’ve been consistently thanking God for lately…
– Providing $18,000 to me in less than 6 months, and making it abundantly clear that where God calls he provides.
– The beauty that is my 55 person squad he provided (#NspiretheNations), and the 10 days I was able to spend growing with them at training this summer. Truly, I adore them.
– The 40 days I was able to spend at home which challenged me in a completely different way than the next year will.
– My amazing community and His ability to make it both so difficult and so delightful to say “see you later.”
Moving forward I would love to lay some groundwork on what it will look like to engage with this journey alongside me. A large part of that will be reading this blog. Recently I’ve been explaining to those close to me that the World Race can feel very isolating. I am surrounded by a beautiful group of individuals who strive to love me well, but it can feel exhausting to invest in letting people know you when so many tremendous, terrifying and totally awesome changes are happening in your heart and every day life. I would like to make you a promise, and that is to share my heart and experiences through this blog in a way that allows you into this experience, even (especially) when I am nervous that it will be too big to get across in 1,000 words. I hope that, in return, you will be changed or moved by my 11 months in some way. Here are some ways I think will help you do that…
How to Read My Blog:
Please Ask Questions.
Good news! I will likely be able to respond to many different forms of communication throughout this year on a semi-regular basis. I doubt I’ll like your cat video, but I would love to discuss any part of what I am experiencing with you, and go deeper on anything you may be curious about. I will likely have to be slightly ambiguous about some things in my original blog just for brevity’s sake. Please don’t hesitate to ask me to clarify, ask about an aspect I didn’t share details about, or ask me anything else!
Please Comment.
I love to know that you’re reading! In the same way that your donations got me on the plane, your encouragement and partnership will get me through. I love knowing that I have a team of people alongside me.
Please Always Pray.
My most sincere hope in storytelling is that anything that is not from the Lord will fall on deaf ears. I hope that you will spend a bit of time asking God what part of my story YOU need to hear that day, and I hope it will affect you in a completely unique way. I hope you’ll read it and hear Him, not me. If you are someone who doesn’t pray, I hope you’ll read anyway.
Thank you for your support, as always. I have felt completely overwhelmed by my last week in Colorado, because my people are incredible. See you all in 11 months!
God Bless and SkoBuffs
