I am on a journey of freedom. I heard stories of people going on the World Race, experiencing personal freedom, and sharing freedom in Christ, and I craved that. I have said many times in my life that I would “never be the same” and then walked back into bondage. While God is showing me that these times in my life were not failures, as I did learn from them, something God is revealing more and more to me is that freedom is a choice.
I have to choose not to listen to the lies that the enemy tries to whisper in my ear. I have to choose not to follow the desires of my flesh the way that people of the world do. I have to ground my identity in Christ so that it doesn’t matter if I am surrounded by 50 Christians or not, I know who I am. I have to choose joy and choose to pour myself out in whatever ministry we do. I have to choose to prefer others over myself. I have to choose to love when it is difficult, because that’s what real love is.
Even if I have to make this choice 100 times a day, I will choose to live and walk in freedom. God has already given me the victory; I just have to claim it.

Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
