Dear Fellow Christians,

How is everyone doing?
I’m doing fantastic!!! Thanks for asking.
Currently I’m leading worship for my college group at Calvary Baptist Church in Latonia (and loving it), working at a restaurant called Cheddars, and finishing up my Associates degree in Biblical and Theological Studies.
I had started pursing a teaching degree, but concluded that the Lord was guiding me elsewhere.
Anytime I have decided to pursue something other than foreign missions, my heart was just not in it.
I know that I only have one life, and I do not want to waste it.
I am willing and ready to abandon it all to live a life like Jesus, travel the world, and bring Jesus to the poorest of the poor.

With that attitude in mind, I began to fervently pray that the Lord would guide me in what he wanted me to do.
After many hours of searching the internet, for different opportunities, I stumbled upon a program offered by Adventures In Missions called
The World Race.

It was a program, that once accepted, guided a 20 something year old through a process of abandoning it all to live like Jesus and to travel to 11 countries in 11 months.
I immediately knew that this was what the Lord wanted me to do.
So in about a week’s time, I applied and was accepted.

I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do in my life next year.
The race begins in January 2008.
During the year my team and I will have opportunities to work with existing churches, help the homeless, minister in orphanages, and bring a saving knowledge of Jesus to people who are in desperate need of Him.
As of now, I do not know what 11 countries I will be going to, but just to give you a taste of what my race might look like here is a list of previously visited countries:
Swaziland, South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Croatia, India, and China.

I’m writing to you and asking you to pray about partnering in this race.
I have to raise $16,800 in order to go serve and give up the comfort of everyday life to help bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
And you know what? I am so excited about seeing how God is going to use all of you to help in the spreading of His Gospel.
There are a couple of ways you can help support me: give a one time gift, commit to giving a certain amount each month, go to my blog(
http://rachelhunt.theworldrace.org/), and click
support us and give using a credit card or debit card,
or commit to pray for me every day while I am gone.
I know that the amount I have to raise is a large amount of money but trust that the Lord will provide.

I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to
Adventures In Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my name in the memo section of the check if you wish. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all necessary information. In turn, they will send you a receipt. All gifts are tax-deductible.

Just to let you know, I will be blogging my trip on line the entire time I am gone (
http://rachelhunt.theworldrace.org/), so that all my supporters and friends can see how God used you to use me in making a difference in our world.
I love you and thank you all for everything!
I cannot wait to see how the Lord is going to provide!

Serving Our Lord Together,

Rachel Hunt
