Hi, I’m Rachel!
I’m 17 years old and will be graduating Kingwood High School this year
I grew up in a Christian home, but I didn’t decide to follow God until my sophomore year
I have a very loving and supported family
I have a brother who’s 19 and is going to the marines in just a few days
I have a 13 year old mini dachshund who I’m in love with
I babysit 2 boys everyday after school
After the race, I plan to get my education degree and become an elementary school teacher or doing teaching without borders (I really have no clue)
If you can’t tell, I love kids and being able to teach them about the love of God
I was dead set on moving to college station with one of my best friends and have a normal college life right out of high school. However, one day I just couldn’t shake the feeling that I should do something different so I googled a bunch of different things until I found World Race. I prayed endlessly about it and now I’m here!
I’ll be going to Thailand, Malawi and Guatemala for 3 months each where I will be working with orphans, sex trafficking victims and those in poverty. I will be spreading the love of Christ to anyone and everyone that we may encounter over these next 9 months, starting in October.
