The Significance of a Gravel Road

It’s amazing the turn of events and
personal growth in a matter of a year.
God has really been healing me of how and who I used to be.  Many a conversation with Him occurred on a
gravel road in the beautiful town of Jordan.
Sawmill Road.  I would walk down
to the road about a half mile from home and then walk to mile gravel road.  Sometimes in the morning, sometimes mid day,
but mostly around dusk.  Watching the
sunset, over corn fields and over a small pond.

I would talk to God, ask Him what was
going on with my life.

Why can’t I seem to get it
together?

What is it that He wants me to do?

I didn’t have a job and He was clearing
the way for me to leave for a year.

What is out in the world that He wants
me to see, to do, to become?

But Lord… I am going to miss my family
so much, my friends.

What about the money? Raising and
simply not earning any money for a year.

Lord?

There was such a pull to go that I had
to… I truly can’t imagine what it would have looked like had I disobeyed.  Ignored His voice and His call.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your
name.

        Your
kingdom come,

        your
will be done,

                on
earth as it is in heaven.

        Give
us this day, our daily bread,

        and
forgive us our depts,

as we also have forgiven our
debtors.

        And
lead us not into temptation,

                but
deliver us from evil.”

                                                                        Matthew
6:9-13

So we pray this… right.

I would be a hypocrite had I not left…
I have said so many times… Your will be done.  And it was / is His will for me to be exactly
where I am at, physically, emotionally, spiritually.

He knows what He’s doing and for that I
am thankful.  Because 9 times out of 10 I
don’t know what I’m doing and have to TRUST that He knows best.  He is God, after all.

Now He brings me to Swaziland… where I
get to walk a gravel road.  From stop
sign to stop sign about 2 miles or so.  I
walk sometimes in the mornings, sometimes in the afternoon, but my favorite
time is at dusk when I watch the sunset.
Over the mountains.  Walking both
ways I look towards mountains.

There are no mountains in Minnesota…
not on Sawmill Road at least.

How good a God I have.

What a gift to give me a gravel road to
walk on and talk to Him.

Thank You Lord for a gravel road.  Such wonderful talks with You… and such
healing and growth have come between the two gravel roads You have allowed me
to walk in a matter of a year.

Thank you.

How much clearer this road is… how much
happier this road is… I long to return to my original road and bring my new
self.  To walk and talk to you back home…

I love You Lord.  You give such good gifts to your children who
love you.

Mine… a gravel road.  And it’s beautiful.  I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Matthew 7:11

If you then, who are evil, know how to
give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in
heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Set Thine Heart to Follow to the End

From the book: Come Away My
Beloved

Show Me your hand.  Lo, I have fashioned to bring glory to My
Name.  For My Name is above every Name,
and unto Me belonged praise and glory, and in Me shall every living thing
rejoice.  For I will cause a light to
shine out of the darkness, and in that place where you have walked in defeat,
the3re I will cause victory to break forth.

        Rise,
arise, and put on they strength, O Zion; for you are a people called by My
Name, and in My Name shall you be strong and do exploits.  And I will bless you out of the abundance of
heaven.

        My
strength shall be your delivering power.
For I am the Lord am in the midst, to be to you a mighty power, and
there shall be none weak among you.  But
he that hath more abundant grace shall lend a lifting hand to him that has
less; and he that has great rejoicing in his heart shall cheer them that
languish.

        For
I know your works.  Your hear has been an
open book which My Spirit has read.  Yea,
and I know your every desire, and I know your every need, and I go before you,
and I shall bring it to pass.

        In
the morning, lift your heart in song.  In
the evening, let your requests be made known.
And My peace shall keep you, and My grace shall be your support.

        Turn
not into the diverging path, neither fear to follow Me.  For as the shepherd when he pts for his sheep
goes before, so shall you now of a surety that I go before you.  And it shall be to you a place of broad
pastures, yea, of enlarged vision; of increased fruitfulness, and unbounded
blessings – and nothing shall prevent Me.

        Look
not to your own thoughts, but walk in the Spirit so shall you accomplish the
work which the Spirit desires to do.
Eternity alone shall reveal the fruit of this hidden ministry.  For we labor not in the material realm, and
we work not with the elements of this world; but out labor  is in the realm of the Spirit, and the
accomplishments are not judged by the human eye, but shall be revealed in the
light of eternity.

        Therefore
be diligent.  Follow Me so closely that
there shall be no distance between. Listen carefully to My voice, that you go
not your own way.  For My path shines
more and more brightly unto that day.
Set you heart to follow to the end, for at the end there is laid up and
exceeding weight of glory for them that endure.
