Self Help Empowerment
This is where I served in ministry during the month of April. Just as I was blown away at God’s ability to use me in ways that were so natural with the “White Doves”…the same has happened at SHE. Approaching the ministry we were told it was going to be fairly hard; spiritually speaking. Phuket is a very touristy place and in particular the bars of Patong.
There are about 200 bars within an area a little bigger than a city block where around 1200 girls work in he bars. Prostitution is the main profession.
When we got to SHE I was immediately drawn to the work they do there and the founders themselves. First off here is the sign on the front of the building.
I wasn’t quite sure if there was ministry during the day or what exactly was going to happen. They said we’d turn into bats and they were kinda right. Go out about 8:30 or 9:00pm get in about 12:30 am and still be wound up till about 2am. That was an average night. Some nights had gotten even later. I decided mid way that my area of focus wasn’t as much on the girls in the bars but the ones at the SHE center, where they do jewelry making, chocolates and now cookies. Oh yes… does it get any better you wonder. And the answer is, “yes”. For me at least… they need interior design help as well.
“WHAT?” are you kidding me… GOD! YOU ROCK!
The area’s God has used me in at SHE has been in…
*Aid in the vision of Mark & Sharon (founders) by discussion future plans and how they may want to carry them out… hearing and understanding their needs at SHE. Finding my niche there and having a strange peace about it.
*Becoming really close friends with Mark & Sharon and their family. Building relationships with them.
*I painted and designed a jewelry cabinet to display their pieces. Extremely limited resources. Just things that were found around the center. Which made it for an interesting creative process. (fun though)
*I was going to measure their entire building in hopes to get back to the U.S to work on design ideas and layout for there current building and possibly the one next door to it. I started on one area but never got around to finishing it. (that’s ok, lots of fundraising need to happen to carry out the neat ideas Sharon and I have been bouncing off each other)
*Developing relationships with the girls in the bars and ones at the SHE house.
*Daily Devotionals were really neat for me too.
Yeh… just really seeing myself back there and continuing where I left off… but better. (i’ll be better)

I think I grasped a bit of understanding on how I could be a help to the ministry, to the cause.
Jewelry sales and designs as well as interior design to the SHE house… for now. This is huge, and SHE is going to be international. Thailand is just the first of many to come. I am Humbled to be called and have a heart for such a neat ministry.

God is growing and developing me in so many ways. I pray He continues to feed new ideas and passion into me to help contribute the the awesome foundation of SHE.
God is good and again more confirmation that He knows the desires or our hearts. Women is where my heart is… and this is most definitely all girl… what a great name……. S H E it’s got such a feminine ring to it. Wink.
