MEET MY FRIEND
Darci Simpson
First I will say… I love God soo much… for many, many reasons. But this one I will tell you about is my girl Darci… God was so kind to me to bless me with a new friend and sister in Christ.
Our story is that of two star-crossed lovers that met on a chilly Oct. day in the Atlanta, GA airport… sigh… oh the memories of our beloved meeting gets me so emotional… I will try to contain myself to share with you the early days of our whirl-wind relationship.

Two crazy kids get to the airport 9 hours before needing to hop on a bumpy bus to training camp. Whatever were they to do? Oh… don’t you worry about that… it was “celebrate airport day” at the good ‘ol Atlanta airport and we were serenaded by a marching band, folk singers, blues and the magical miracles of “frank” the magician and his two 30lb rabbits that he did nothing with.
(frank is a made up name to protect the privacy of the magician)
Now this was all fine-and-dandy that we had entertainment… but little did we know we would soon find out that Darci and I need NOTHING to entertain us. We entertain each other like two fish in a fishbowl with no colorful rocks or plastic castles and treasure boxes.
Miss Darci and I sing joyful songs to each other, do interpretive dances and laugh until our ab muscles hurt so bad that we question what physical activity strained us so… and realize it was simply deep laughter.
I love this girl… yes… I said it… and I THANK my / our wonderful God for her and her gift of Humor and Joy.
God told me that she is my “RELEASE“.
I had NO IDEA what that meant at first… and then it made all the sense in the world.
We are going to be involved in A LOT this year… physically, spiritually and emotionally. There is going to be times of feeling like complete overload with all that I (we) encounter. And she is there as my sanity and emotional “Release“. Our laughter can clear so much and yet leave me feel filled and normal. (if this makes any sense)
her INSANITY helps my SANITY.
