We went throughout the town of Cornesti and invited people to an evangelism event one of the first weeks here. Our contact told us to be praying for the people that would show up and to choose one specific person talk to or pray for. I didn't know who to choose so I asked the Lord to lead me to someone. I kept on hearing to look for someone wearing a hat. I thought that was pretty weird since there could be multiple people wearing hats. But it stuck with me. When we arrived to the event I looked around and there he was. An old man in a faded pink hat. Probably in his 70's or 80's. No one else in the entire area had a hat. no joke.

I smiled at him and then he waited in line to sign up for door prizes. Later I saw him sitting alone and sat right down by him and shook his hand. I had no clue what he was saying to me but he smelled like alcohol. My heart broke. He was so lonely. Who was this random man and why was the Lord leading me to him? I cant talk to him. He doesnt understand me. Later on during the evangelism event they were calling peoples numbers who won something out of the drawing, most were little kids ….. but all of a sudden they called Pink Hat Mans number, he stood up and the crowd began to cheer as he went up front to claim his prize which ended up being a flashlight. This man was soooo excited to have his very own flashlight. He couldnt stop smiling. Since that night I see him almost everyday. I learned his name is Michael. He always waves and thanks me for sitting by him that night. We have had the chance to pray for him and against the strongholds of alcohol. He went to another event the other day and went up front when they did an alter call and recieved a Bible afterwards. I pray that he will be healed, set free, and open to the true Word of God. I pray this will be his best year yet and he will put the bottle down. I pray he will be able to reach out to the other men in the community. I pray he will be a new man! God can do anything at any age.
