I’m always in the middle of a book and looking for good books to read. Luckily I was blessed with a Nook before I left so I can buy books on that to read. Read any good books lately? I’d love if you’d recommend them to me!
The most recent one I’ve read is called “Lioness Arising” by Lisa Bevere and I just wanted to share about it with you all. This has showed me the powerful lioness that God wants me to be.
A bit about it…
Bevere likens each of the daughters of God to lionesses.
Like a lioness who is full of grace and confidence we are to rise up to what God has called us to be. God wants to awaken something fierce and beautiful in His daughters. He has called each of us for a purpose.
As daughters of His, we are beautiful, strong, and have the ability and power to make a difference.
A lioness:
Is at ease with her strength and at rest with her power
Embraces the strength she has instead of fearing it.
Is alert and awake to what is happening in her environment. When this happens we don’t get absorbed by daily tasks but can be alert and awake to what God is doing.
Arises from resting to: gather strength. Greet and groom others. Hunt alongside fellow lionesses. Move the young to safety. Confront enemies that threaten the pride. Walk with her King.
You are meant to be an unbeatable, unconquerable daughter of Zion
You are not alone in your struggles. Jesus has promised to always be with us.
You are meant to bear light and hope in this dark world
Satan is no match for a true lioness
God wants you to settle down in complete dependence on Hi
Allow the voice of God to stir something inside of you that cannot be quenched by any lie
A lioness is a picture of how every daughter of the Most High can embrace her strength, develop courage, and change her world.
Numbers 23:24- The people rise like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion.
What is God calling you to do? It may be something so immense that it seems daunting or so small that it seems insignificant. Know that the important thing is that we obey Him because He can use anything for His glory. He’s right there walking beside us. You have strengths, talents, and abilities that no one else has that can be used for God’s glory.
Arise, lioness, and be all you were created to be.
