It was about 2 years ago, during my sophomore year of college, that I first heard about the World Race. I was captivated by the idea of traveling the world to share the love of Christ and proclaim the gospel, but, given that I had two more years left of college, I simply filed it away and didn’t think too much more about it.

However, this year, during my senior year of college, as I was trying to discern what God was calling me to do after graduation, I began to revisit the possibility of going on the race. I started to read other racers blogs and God rekindled the excitement for the Race that I had felt two years prior. One night I was praying about whether to apply, I opened my Bible to Matthew 4:14-16,

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put in on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

After reading this verse, I was convinced that the World Race was the plan that the Lord had for me. I submitted my application and 2 weeks later I had been accepted! I am so excited for the journey that He is going to take me on, and all that He is going to do in me and through me! I ask that you would join me in prayer as I start to prepare for this trip!
