I want to begin this blog by expressing how thankful I am for you. First of all, thank you for your prayers while I’m on the field. Your prayers mean so much to me, and they help me to continue on, month after month. Next, I want to thank you for all of your love and encouragement. Your e-mails, facebook messages, texts, skype calls, and letters have been full of Christ’s love, and they have meant the world to me. Lastly, I want to thank you all for your financial support. Day after day, month after month, I am continuously amazed by your generosity. God has used each of you to be a huge blessing in my life, as well as on the race.
The thankful part of this blog was easy to write. The next part wasn’t as effortless. Something that God has been teaching me about on the World Race is community (living with anywhere from seven to fifty-two people at any point in time will kinda do that to you). Up until the race, I thrived on doing things on my own. It worked, I liked it, and it meant I didn’t need to reach out to others. Since being on the race, God has been revealing to me that not only is community important, it’s also (can you believe it?) better. One aspect of community is being open and vulnerable to the people around you. It is with an open and vulnerable heart that I come before you, and admit that I need your help. I have approximately 34 days to raise $4,130. I know without a doubt that this is where I’m supposed to be, but in order to stay on the field, I need to be fully funded by December 31, 2013. The World Race isn’t something that I could do or would want to do on my own, and I would love for you to consider partnering with me on this journey!
If you do feel led to partner with me, it is possible to either donate online, or send in a donation in the form of a check. If you would like to make your donation online, you can do so by clicking on the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of this page where there will be instructions about how to complete your donation. If you would rather make a donation in the form of a check, please make the check payable to Adventures In Missions, as well as write “Rachael Miller” in the memo line. You can then send in your donation to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470.
I want to thank you all again for everything you’ve done for me on this journey, I wouldn’t be able do any of this without you!
