A glimpse into my life in the Philippines
This is the Childrens home I am serving in this month
This month my main ministry here in Manila is to serve at the New Faith Childrens home. They have over 30 kids that are living here at the moment and most all of them have had some sort of physical, mental or sexual abuse. It is sad to think about but these children are just a blessing to work with. They come with alot of emotional baggage but it give me all the more reaso to love them harder.
A regular day at the Childrens Home looks like waking the kids up at 5:30 to get their showers and get dressed for school. Read them a story or play until breakfast. After breakfast we have a bible study prayer time with the kids at 7 and then off to school. There are two schools that the children go to. One is the JCCV which is attached to the Kids International Ministries building where I live and the other is just a few minutes walk the other direction. There are 3 or 4 kids that don’t go to school in the morning so after the school kids are gone we play with the little ones left. 9:30 begins the fiasco of picking up the children from school. We pick up 2 at 9:30 from one school, 3 at 10 and 2 more at 11:30 from the other school. We have lunch then showers and nap time. After nap time we play until the big kids get home from school around 3:30. The kids have chores and homework to finish before dinner. we help with that. After dinner we start getting the kids to settle down. Showers and pjs then we have a bible study sing along time at 7 with all the kids. After devotional time we start getting them all to sleep. Easier said than done. Once all tucked away, we head back to where we are staying to get some serious sleep before we do it all again the next day. Working here simotaniously makes me want to adopt 50 kids and never have any.
