Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

You see the Lord didn’t say pray about trusting in the Lord, or analyze your situation and then decide to trust in the Lord…He definitely didn’t say after everything works out then trust in Me.

God simply said “trust” in the Lord.

To be honest, I have been failing to what God called us to do- Trust him. It is so easy to get on the treadmill of defeat even before the battle begins. I tell the Lord that I trust Him but, then I add on stress, worry, and doubt into my daily routine because of the physical things that I see. Does that sound like trust to you? No, there are verses after verses of Jesus trying to tell us that we have nothing to worry about because God is with us. He said things like this:

1 Peter 5:7
Let Him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.
John 14:27
I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Philippians 4:6-7
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with My victorious right hand.

Now how can you not trust God when He has plainly spoken that He is watching after me. My physical eyes look at the funds that need to be raised, my student loans, car payment, rent, and all of these things are real and have to be taken care of but, God knows all of these things. He knows that I have decided to live my life for Him, He has called me to the nations and because He has called me He will provide.

Like I said this is not the easiest thing to do But, we are called to trust in God. I am writing this because I need to hear it. I need to be reminded that God won’t leave me nor forsake me. And the same is for all of you who are reading this right now.

Do you struggle with trusting the Lord? If so what steps do you take to exercise your faith?
