“This is exactly what I thought the World Race would be like all along.”
I have heard this from many of my teammates this month about our time in India. Though we have only been in the country for less than a week we have already seen and experienced so much. Let me walk you through our typical ministry day here.
It starts off at 9 am when we are fed exorbitant amounts of rice and curry. Of course this does not stop until the day is over. After breakfast we will spend time praying as a team for our day. Following that we will be free until lunch at 1 pm. Quickly after lunch we will leave to head out to the villages. Now here is where the fun part comes in. When we arrive at the village in our push to start rickshaw we are escorted from house to house in order to bless houses, pray for the sick, and share the gospel. After doing this for hours, all the while being fed at most houses and drinking plenty of Chai tea, we will go to a prayer meeting where we will give our testimonies and share the message of the gospel. Once the message has been given we ask if anyone would like to receive Christ as their savior which is very common. We will pray over these individuals, pray for the sick, eat a ton of food, and then head home finally arriving back around 10:30 pm.
When I say these are pretty whirlwind days I am not kidding you. We go to a different village every day and do the same thing. It is so incredible to be able to do this but it is also challenging and exhausting. We are so blessed to see people healed (yes we have already seen a blind person receive sight among other things), see lives changed, and bondages broken. God is doing amazing things in India. He is performing signs and wonders here and people are coming to faith.
In many respects it is like living out the book of Acts here and so it is very exciting. I would like to ask each of you though to pray for me and my team. Please pray against the attacks of the enemy. Pray for our team to have good health and that we would have plenty of rest. This is difficult work and the enemy really does not want it to take place and so we need prayer in order to succeed because all that we are doing is dependent upon God showing up. Thank you.
